Bone augmentation or adding of bone to the jaw where it is missing is a standard surgical technique within implantology performed for minor bone defects when we use resorbable membranes and artificial bone or autotransplant. The procedure is performed several months before implant insertion in order to provide necessary conditions for their insertion.
